Function:
The Quality Engineer primary goal is to determine, recommend, and
implement the company's overall Quality System in
order to maintain and improve the quality and
reliability of the products. To achieve this
goal, the Quality Engineer will instill a continuous
improvement mentality and rigorous adherence to
quality practices and principles throughout the
company by working closely with owners, department
heads, and individual contributors.
Job Description:
Investigate,
define, propose, establish, measure, and enforce
Quality System(s). Establish, own, and
coordinate accomplishment of company's Quality
Goals. Make clear recommendation to facilitate
a Continuous Improvement Environment and champion
its implementation. Actively communicate
significant issues and developments identified
during quality activities and provide recommended
process/product improvements to management. In
addition the Quality Engineer will conduct failure
analysis, qualify suppliers, organize incoming
inspection, coordinate process development, manage
CARs, SCARs, and RMAs, and manage the Quality
aspects of ECOs and new product introductions.
Qualifications:
Engineering Degree (BSME preferred), Formal training
in relevant Quality Systems and Techniques such as
ISO, Six Sigma, SPC, and lean manufacturing. 5
- 8 yrs. exp as Quality Engineer, including at least
one successful implementation of a major, strategic
quality system. Ability to design experiments
and to solve multi-variable root cause problems.
Exp. in at least one of the following: electronic
assembly methods, (esp. SMT), plastic injection
molding and materials, connector systems, or
elector-mechanical design. Advanced computer
skills including aptitude for ERP/MRPII and MS
Office Suite. Knowledgeable in the use of
precision measurement equipment, experience in
electro-mechanical assembly. Goal oriented
with long-term vision, highly organized and detail
oriented, superb communications and interpersonal
skills.
